The Lakes District has over 4,828km (3,000miles) of lake shoreline including BC's largest natural freshwater lake.
The region has much to offer including beautiful scenery and plenty of summer and winter outdoor activities (excellent fishing, hiking, horse-back riding, camping, and cross country skiing, and more). Wildlife (including moose, bears and deer) are abundant in the area, while farms and ranches are scattered throughout the outlying rural areas.
